Teachers who have been in the game long enough know how great it feels to have students get in touch after making their way in the world. In Joseph Campbell terms, this is the hero returning from the journey. One of my heroes is Bernardo Gonzalez (RHS ’13). You can see his 2012-13 high school Open-Source Learning course HERE and the blog he created for it HERE. Bernardo emailed a couple weeks ago to tell me that, after earning his bachelor’s degree at UCLA and his teaching credential at Cal Poly, he is starting his career teaching 9th grade Biology in Sacramento this year, and he wanted to talk about Open-Source Learning to see how he might use some of the principles and tools to help his students.
